Magic Is In The Air

28 Aug

magic

Literally, it’s time for MAGIC again and Celebrity Pink is buzzing with trade show talk. In fact I have been living and breathing Vegas preparations for so long I’m beginning to wonder what I will do when we get back, take a nap maybe?!

Behind the chaos and seemingly unorganized mess of boxes is really a very carefully planned packing list of every necessity right down to the very last staple remover. With all the necessary preparations finally behind us, Celebrity Pink is thrilled to be able to preview our Spring/ Summer 2010 line as well as to debut our curvy fit collection to both editors and buyers alike. Our booth boasts a “Going Places” theme to coincide with our international expansion efforts and also the versatility of our denim which makes it perfect travel attire. From our luggage tag give-aways to our vintage suitcase displays I would say we are definitely dressed to impress.

Aside from working the booth and meeting with the media, my favorite part of MAGIC has to be the unexpectedness. You never know what (or who) you are going to see, and someone always has a surprise worth sticking around to see. In fact several years ago as we wandered wide-eyed around the Ed Hardy enterprise…i mean booth…taking in the models in painted bikinis we suddenly found ourselves practically onstage with Snoop Dogg (read: Literally, we were sitting on the stage and without notice the music starts and out walks Snoop).

That same year I also had the pleasure of colliding with Nicky Hilton at her sweet little booth, yes we ran into each other…bags and papers everywhere! So this year I’m hoping maybe I’ll run into Betsey Johnson and she’ll just give me an armful of those playfully obnoxious dresses she’s so famous for…I’m just saying, that’s what I’m hoping for.

See you at the show…

One of Celebrity Pink’s favorite little rompers is finally famous! That’s right, Monday morning on Good Day LA playboy playmate Bridget Marquart modeled a light wash denim romper from CP’s 2009 collection perfect for the hot summer months. Style number CPG828 accomplished what most rompers can only hope for…15 minutes of fame.

Bridget will be walking in this Thursday’s annual Celebrity Catwalk charity fashion show taking place at Hollywood and Highland. A star studded runway will raise money and awareness all benefiting the Animal Rescue. You can buy tickets to attend this awesome event right HERE! Check out myFoxla.com for Karina Smirnoff’s exclusive preview of the entire fashion show.

Too Cool For School

24 Aug

Ok, so we’re not actually too cool for school but Celebrity Pink is definitely rockin’ some pretty awesome trends sure to make a  back-to-school fashion statement. And our favorite magazines seem to think so too! Just check out the August and September issues of Seventeen magazine, Nylon Magazine, OK! Weekly, Justine, J-14, Savvy, and Twist to name a few, to see what’s hot for fall.

Summer pieces such a fun dresses are easily transitioned for cooler weather with the addition of a slouchy boyfriend blazer or super sleek motorcycle jacket. It’s all about layering so yes, more is better. Start with one of your favorite warm weather tanks and add a long vest with a fitted jacket for a oh so stylish L.A. chic vibe.

Seventeen Again

Seventeen 009

I am in most every respect an extremely organized person, borderline self-diagnosed OCD in fact. However, I am also somewhat forgetful as there are far too many things continually on my brain. Not only did I forget that I attended the following event but I failed to remember the multiple pictures I took to document said event nearly THREE weeks ago until I found them hiding in my camera.

August 1st marked the kick off day of SeventeenMagazine’s StyleMix Mall tour across the U.S. This exciting fashion show and model call took place right in my front yard at the Topanga Mall and drew quite the crowd of screaming seventeen year olds among other teens and tweens the like. Amidst the many give-aways and loud music, local models strutted their stuff down a much anticipated catwalk in none other than Celebrity Pink jeans! Cute cute cute!

The models looked hot in their CP ensembles and everyone was very excited to enter to win one of the two Celebrity Pink prize packs filled with back to school denim. Congrats to the winners: Kira from Oxnard, CA and Melanie from the 818, enjoy your new wardrobes.

Here’s a list of their upcoming mall stops…check to see if yours may be next:

Pic-this

14 Aug
As the summer seems to be fighting with fall for weather control it was decided this would be a good weekend for a picnic before the cold takes over and its time for cozy scarves and knee high boots again. There’s something about laying on a blanket in the grass that makes me think of gingham and little sundresses.  Here’s some super sweet little Michael Kors numbers that I can just never get enough of.

It goes without saying that a picnic is not complete without the standard lunch in a basket routine. You’ve got your standard issue official day-in-the-park dress, now all you need is the nourishment.  For this I found the most perfect little spot, with locations in both Hollywood and Venice, you are pretty much our of excuses not to stop and pick up a couple sammies and some to die for desserts from Lemonade.

Check out one of the many concerts going on this summer all around LA, pull up a blanket, and enjoy!

Have a happy weekend…

Party People

13 Aug

944 party

Part of living, working, and breathing LA comes the scene and be seen sort of mentality…which is not necessarily a bad thing. With that said, attending “business” ((cough, cough)) events and soirees is just part of the job. OK, so its really more of a glamorized perk  than a cumbersome requirement but you won’t find me complaining in the least bit.

Wednesday night 944 Magazine hosted the launch party of their August Nightlife Issue at Loft Sevenin downtown LA. Let me tell you, it was a pretty rockin’ rooftop party. With the apps catered by J Restaurant and Lounge and the open bar hosted by Tres Generaciones Tequila no detail went unnoticed. Perhaps attributed to my extensive experience with event planning or my fascination with all things marketing, I find myself observing everything right down to the printing on the napkins (which was definitely note worthy).

This penthouse was pimped to precision and the ambiance was perfect for such a night’s festivities. The warm summer night was ideal host to this rooftop gathering. Aside from the super creative after party invites (written on seductive little cocktail napkins with a very “I’m giving you my number” vibe, how awesome is that?), oh and the silhouetted go-go dancers, the highlight of the party was the 6-screen printing press where party-goers could select from several prints and create their very own one-of-a-kind tee to take home. Interactive chaos, very entertaining. Mine turned out quite stylish if I do say so myself, in fact I’m thinking of going into tee-shirt design…ok, maybe not.

Last call: It was a killer party for a Wednesday night…gosh I love LA.

Party on party people…
