I’ve heard it. You’ve heard it. And yes, I am borderline way too excited about the emergence of Spring 2010′s nautical trends. Stripes and pleated shorts, yes please!
While Chanel, according to ELLE.com, seems to have a strond hold on the direction of this trend as can be seen with their range of bold scarves, bags, bangles, and shoes, there are many other designers jumping on this pirate ship as well.
The red, white, blue ensemble is such a classic color story that can’t help but scream yacht club, and still makes up feel slightly patriotriotic.
The rope and brass hardware offer a seaworthy touch, while the sweet gold anchor, starfish, and various sea creature accessories add a whimsical element we can’t help but adore as well.
From the runways to the magazines everyone is covering this trend. Check out the February issue of Lucky for their take on “tough nautical” or Elle for tons of lust worthy accessories.
One of my favorite ways to rock this look is with a nautical inspired blazer, a playful scarf, a pair of tailored shorts, a colorful pair of sling backs, and some great cruise inspired hardware.
This is one trend that has officially set sail!
